About the Author

Jenny Sue MarkMy name is Jenny Mark and I am an Adjunct Faculty for Baker College, Vista College, Southern New Hampshire University, and University of Phoenix. My specialties are in Composition and Literature. I attended college at the California State University of San Bernardino as both an undergraduate and as a graduate student.

I obtained my Bachelor’s in Engelish Literature and my Master’s in English Composition from that same school and had the opportunity to attend many exciting classes in writing and literature, including Native American literature, children’s literature, women’s literature, creative writing, and poetry writing.

I was a regular contributor to New Pages where I reviewed up to two literary magazines every month.

My husband and I have been married since 2007 and we live in Hesperia, California. We have quite a few animals! We have 1 dog, 4 cats, lots of chickens, rabbits, and a betta fish.

I am an avid Science Fiction and Fantasy fanatic as well, but since I often do not find time to read, I listen to a lot of books via Audible.com. Some of my favorite authors include John Scalzi, S.H. Jucha, Dennis Taylor, Joe Hill, Ernest Cline, Ilona Andrews, Orson Scott Card, and Anne Bishop.

As a hobby, I have learned website programming (PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript and MySQL) to help my husband’s business, and provide technical support to his online projects and websites.

I have been teaching for years at online colleges, and definitely enjoy the work! I pride myself on detailed and constructive feedback to my students while maintaining a positive classroom environment.

I have received AIM Tier I and II training in quality assessment, facilitation, and feedback, and I have also taken many workshops and courses at the University of Phoenix, Baker College, SNHU, and through MaxKnowledge in order to help me provide the best classrooms possible to my students.

When not teaching, I paint, do crafts, take care of my chickens, tend to my large garden, bake and cook various goodies, and make jellies, jams, pickles, sauces, and other canned or home-preserved goodies.  I try to use only homegrown ingredients as much as possible. Some of my favorite recipes include Blackberry Jelly, Strawberry Jam, Mixed Berry Jam, Cherry Tomato and Corn Salsa, Salsa Verde, Bread and Butter Pickles, Kosher Dill Pickles, and Candy Apple Jelly.

I have been also learning to make wine with my homegrown fruits, including Blackberry Wine, Blackberry Blush Wine, Nectarine Wine, Peach Wine, and Pineapple Wine.
